BRUINS SIGN BJORK TO CONTRACT EXTENSION

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with forward Anders Bjork. The deal will carry an average annual value of $1.6 million.

Bjork, 23, appeared in 58 games with the Bruins this season, posting nine goals and ten assists. He also played in seven games with the Providence Bruins of the AHL, where he put up three goals and five assists. The Mequon, Wisconsin native has played in 108 NHL regular season games to this point in his career, and has 14 goals and 34 points to show for it.

Bjork has been a part of the Bruins organization since he was selected in the fifth round (146th overall) at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. At the time of the draft, he was playing for the U.S. National U-18 Team in the USHL. After that season, he spent three seasons playing for Notre Dame before starting his professional career in 2017.
