DAVID PASTRNAK SAYS HIS TOM WILSON TWEET WAS ALL HIM

Apparently there are lots of shenanigans going on at the hotels in Edmonton and Toronto where NHL players are staying. Recently, a Tweet appeared on the timeline of Boston Bruins sniper David Pastrnak, where he referred to Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson as "the best goal scorer in the league." Just in case you missed it:

Many assumed Pastrnak's account was hacked or someone grabbed his phone while he was still logged into his account and had a bit of fun. Pastrnak insists that's not the case.

"I just felt like I wanted to say it. It's my opinion," Pastrnak told reporters Thursday. "Nobody hacked my Twitter. It was all me, with my own fingers."

Pastrnak went on to reveal that there was something else involved.

"That was a little side bet with Tom from back in the day."

Pastrnak wouldn't say what the bet involved.

While some likely pine for the days when having opposing teams staying at the same hotel would have led to fistfights and plenty of damage to the facility, it is interesting to see players getting along and ribbing each other while dealing with their isolation from the outside world. It shows a more down-to-earth side of these people we see on TV battling it out on the ice.
