GERBE ADMITS TO SETTING UP HILARIOUS PHOTO WITH CHARA

The photo that featured the NHL's tallest player, Zdeno Chara, linking arms with the league's shorted in Nathan Gerbe was a set-up by the latter. Gerbe has admitted that he and teammate Cam Atkinson orchestrated the whole thing, although Chara was not in on it.

"Many of you have seen this picture across the internets today and wondered if the NHL or the member clubs orchestrated this, putting two of the league’s most vertically-challenged players on either side of the tallest player in NHL history," The Athletic's Aaron Portzline posted to Twitter.

"Turns out, Nathan Gerbe and Cam Atkinson - both with good humor - had the idea when the anthem arm-lock was planned. Bruins Zdeno Chara (6-9) had no warning when Gerbe (5-4) and Atkinson (5-8) each grabbed an arm."

“He did not know,” Gerbe said. “He laughed about it.”

It's always good to see players have some fun, esoecially at their own expense. The photo was widely shared across social media and brought smiles to the faces of many hockey fans. Gerbe even went a step further, tweeting the photo and likening it to when a father has to break up a fight between two brothers.
