LORENZO CAIN OPTS OUT

Lorenzo Cain is the first big name player to opt out of the 2020 season since it began. Before the season, we saw David Price and Buster Posey opt out due to their own personal reasons. Now, the Brewers center fielder has decided that he will not play again this year, as he feels this is the best decision for his family.

Multiple players have stated that they would not play since the Marlins originally announced that they had players test positive for COVID-19, but none as big a name as Cain. Cain is a two-time All Star and won a Gold Glove Award last year. He also slashed .260/.325/.372 (BA/OBP/SLG%) with 11 homeruns, 48 RBI’s and 18 stolen bases. He was a crucial part of a Milwaukee team looking to bounce back after narrowly losing to the Nationals in last year's Wild Card game.
