GALCHENYUK POSSIBLY ON HIS WAY OUT OF MINNESOTA

Minnesota Wild forward Alex Galchenyuk may possibly be on a new team by the 2020-21 season. While these are just speculations, there are good reasons to believe he will not start the 2020-21 season with the Minnesota Wild.

The Minnesota Wild traded for Nick Bjugstad from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. While this acquisition doesn't affect Galchenyuk directly, he will be affected somehow based on the fact that they are both centers.

Not only do they share a position, but they also wear the same number. However; the Minnesota Wild announced that they would be stripping Alex Galchenyuk of his number 27, and give it to Bjugstad. This starts speculation based on the fact that they have not formally given Galchenyuk a new number.

Galchenyuk is also an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, and will need a contract before being able to play next season. He will be able to sign anywhere.

We will have to wait until after the Stanley Cup finals to find out where Galchenyuk will end up.
