CANADIENS, ANDERSON AGREE TO LONG-TERM DEAL

The Habs are all in on Josh Anderson. The Montreal Canadiens and their newly acquired winger have agreed on a seven-year, $38.5-million contract extension, the club announced Thursday. The contract includes a modified no trade clause:

- Years 2 to 4: Includes 8 Team NTC - Years 5 to 7: Includes 5 Team NTC

The Canadiens acquired Anderson, a restricted free agent, from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Max Domi and a third-round pick Tuesday. Domi, who was a pending restricted free agent as well, inked a two-year contract with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Anderson, a 2012 fourth-round pick, registered 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 26 games with Columbus in 2019-20. He misses a large portion of the season dealing with a shoulder injury.

More to come.
