Stanley Cup winner returns to Boston

july 18, 2019
The Boston Bruins announced today that they’ve hired one of their former players as the new player development coordinator.

Chris Kelly played 14 seasons in the NHL as a centre and winger, including six in Boston. He was drafted by Ottawa in 1999 and played 7 seasons there before being traded to the Bruins in 2011. He won the Stanley Cup with Boston that year. He finished his career in Anaheim, playing 12 games for the team in the 2017-2018 season.

Kelly won the gold medal with Team Canada at the 2017 Spengler Cup, and captained Canada’s 2018 men’s Olympic hockey team, which won the bronze medal.

He spent last season as a player development coach in Ottawa.
