Boudreau upset with what he believes was a sell job by Kane

8 novembre 2019
Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau is not happy with Evander Kane, or the referees, after losing to the San Jose Shark by a slim margin Thursday night. Minnesota almost pulled off an improbable comeback, losing to the Sharks 6-5 after being down 6-2 going into the third period of the game. As for Boudreau, he believes San Jose's ability to hold on to the lead was helped by a five minute major penalty called on Minnesota's Ryan Hartman in the third period. Take a look at the incident:

Boudreau isn't buying the call, making it clear that he believes Kane did his best acting in order to ensure the penalty was a major instead of a minor.

"Kane did a great job of selling it, because he went off limping, everybody thought he had a broken ankle, and he missed one shift. You go figure it out," Boudreau commented after the game.

He also wasn't happy that the refs reviewed the play by video and still kept it as a five minute major.
