Jordan Binnington feels last season wasn't perfect enough for him

8 novembre 2019
One would think that after becoming the missing piece of the puzzle that allowed the St . Louis Blues to win their first ever Stanley Cup, Jordan Binnington would be all sugar and no salt. Sadly, that is not the case.

Apparently, Binnington feels that the Calder Trophy, given to the best rookie of the regular season in the NHL, went to the wrong person, as the voters chose Elias Pettersson of the Vancouver Canucks over him. Despite all his successes and accolades, Binnington still has "bad taste in my mouth about the outcome last year."

Binnington was called up in December of last season as the Blues started to turn their season around. He started 30 games, with a record of 24-5-1 with a 1.89 GAA and a .927 SV pct. Pettersson on the other hand, started the season with the Canucks, playing 71 games, scoring 28 goals and adding 38 assists. While the Canucks did not make the playoffs, the author would like to remind you that the awards are based purely on regular season performance.
