Player gets into altercation with fan at LNAH game

12 novembre 2019
The LNAH (which translates to North American Hockey League in English) based in Quebec is known for it's rough style of play. Usually, though the rough stuff remains between the players and doesn't involve the fans. This time it's different.

Friday night, Jonquière Marquis was facing off against Les Pétroliers du Nord in Laval. Jonathan Diaby, who was drafted in the third round (64th overall) by the Nashville Predators in 2013, was sent to the penalty box. He then got involved in a verbal altercation with a fan, and the two started taking swings at each other. Check it out:

Management of the Marquis did not want to comment on the incident following the game. Diaby, it's worth noting, was in the news last February when a video circulated on social media showing several fans at a game yelling racial slurs at him, with one even showing Diaby pictures of a monkey. His father was attacked outside the rink, while his girlfriend had beer poured on her while she left the game. Whether this latest incident was provoked in any way by racism is not known.
Hockey - LNH - Canadiens de Montreal
Visiting Montreal for the 110th anniversary celebration , former Canadian Saku Koivu mentioned, among other things, that in his view, the entry into the NHL of young Kotkaniemi, was too hasty.
