Marchand issues apology via Twitter

29 novembre 2019
Following the game between the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers, Bruins winger Brad Marchand took to Twitter and issued an apology to the Concussion Spotters after tearing into them mere hours earlier.

“My emotions got the best of me after today’s game. I know the spotters are there to help us and I shouldn’t have taken my frustrations out on them.”

The Halifax native was taken out for the 3rd period by Concussion Spotters, after sustaining a hit from Rangers defenceman Jacob Trouba late in the 2nd frame. The score was 2-1 for New York when Marchand exited the game.

Many of us can see where Marchand is coming from, being a key player for the Bruins. With the game being one shot away from being tied, it's understandable that Marchand was frustrated to be pulled from the game to go through concussion protocol. The NHL’s leading goal scorer David Pastrnak ultimately went on to tie the game with 4:27 into the 3rd period, a game which the B's would eventually win in OT.

The Bruins now sit tied with Washington, at 41pts, for 1st place in the NHL. The Bruins' next game is Sunday where they will host the struggling Montreal Canadiens.
