Guy Lafleur recovering from lung cancer

1 décembre 2019
A report from Le Journal de Montreal reveals hockey legend Guy Lafleur recently underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth from his lung. This comes just shortly after he underwent a quadruple bypass procedure to correct heart issues.

According to the report, the cancerous growth was discovered during Lafleur's heart surgery. A biopsy confirmed cancer. Surgeons removed the upper lobe of the right lung, not wanting to take any risks that the growth might spread.

Le Journal says the surgery went very well, and because the cancer was detected very early the chances of a full recovery are very high. Lafleur has started to eat well despite the medications he's taking, and he hopes to return home next Wednesday.

We're sure his family, friends and fans are relieved to hear the excellent prognosis.
